Our Mission

ASCII World exists to be the most complete, accurate, and useful reference for ASCII codes and character encodings on the web. Whether you are a software developer debugging an encoding issue, a student learning about binary data, or an IT professional working with legacy systems, our goal is to give you the information you need in the fewest clicks possible.

We believe that foundational computing knowledge should be freely accessible, well-organized, and easy to understand. Every page on this site is built with that principle in mind.

We prioritize technical accuracy over volume, and we cite primary sources - including the original ANSI X3.4-1963 standard, Unicode Consortium specifications, and IANA character set registries - wherever possible.

The site is designed for speed. Pages load fast, work on any device, and do not require JavaScript for core reference content. We keep the interface clean so you can find what you need without distractions.
