Cedilla

The cedilla (¸) hooks below the letter "c" to change its pronunciation from hard /k/ to soft /s/. French "facade" (with cedilla) is /fasad/, not /fakad/. Turkish uses it on both "c" (becoming /tch/) and "s" (becoming /sh/), though the Turkish "s-cedilla" is technically a different character from the Romanian "s-comma-below."
