Windows-1257 Character Table

Windows-1257 targets the Baltic languages: Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian. Microsoft developed it as a successor to the DOS-era CP775. It differs from ISO-8859-4 (Latin-4) in several code positions, particularly for Lithuanian letters with ogonek marks and the Latvian letters with cedillas. The three Baltic languages share most of the Latin alphabet but each adds unique diacritical marks. Lithuanian has 9 extra letters, Latvian has 11, and Estonian has 4. CP1257 fits all of them into a single code page by carefully arranging the 128 through 255 range.
