ISO-8859-3 Character Table

ISO-8859-3 (Latin-3) covers Maltese, Turkish, and Esperanto. Standardized in 1988, it fills a niche that Latin-1 and Latin-2 missed. Maltese uses the dotted letter ġ (code 245) and ħ (code 241) that do not appear in any other ISO 8859 part. Turkish was later better served by ISO-8859-9 (Latin-5), which fixed the I/i dotting issue more completely. Esperanto's circumflexed consonants (ĉ, ĝ, ĥ, ĵ, ŝ) are the reason Latin-3 exists at all, since the artificial language was designed with diacritics that no natural Latin-script language shares.
